The Majestic Lemur wins First Place Award
October 3, 2025
I was both surprised and honored when I found out that I had won First Place in the Brush Strokes Art Group’s annual competition. This is an art group in Hot Springs Village. My watercolor painting of a Long Tailed Lemur was entered in the professional division with the art group. My heart really goes out to any of the endangered animals. In fact, when I painted this, I wondered if anyone would even know what a lemur was! Lemurs are endangered but not critically endangered. Thank you to Patti Andre who honored me with this award.
Small Painting Class

Here I am leading a small class on painting a Great Blue Heron in watercolor. Birds are one of my favorite subjects…and the great Blue Heron is such a majestic bird! No wonder so many artists paint this beautiful bird!
