Buster - September 8, 2025

This is a painting of my sweet cat, Buster. Believe it or not, he started out completely feral. For 4 1/2 years, he lived under my shed and wouldn’t let me near him…though I fed him every day, twice a day. Slowly, very slowly, he began to trust me, and then one day everything changed. With the help of a friend and some kind neighbors, and a little vet care, Buster turned into the most loving cat I’ve ever had. In fact, he seems to have a very special bond with the first person who ever got him to play. He still has his battle-scarred ear, but now he follows me, comes when I call, and showers me with affection (and everyone else too!) After all these years, he’s truly a joy in my life. I just had to paint him…and I gave the painting to that same friend he first bonded with.
