I am excited. This is my very first blog post, and I’m calling it My Father’s World—meaning my heavenly Father’s world. I hope this blog will become a personal testament to all the beauty I see, even in the simplest things, and a place to give praise to Him for His wonderful handiwork. I won’t write every day… but perhaps a couple of times a week.

Just like this morning—what a beautiful one it was! Thank You, Lord God, for protecting me through the storms last night. I stepped out onto my deck, and everything was so green and fresh. I still need to plant my hanging baskets, but the zinnias are already coming up alongside the fence. I love zinnias, and I look forward to the butterflies they’ll attract once they start blooming.

I’m running a bit behind this year, trying to keep everything in the yard going. But oh, what a treat this morning! I saw three little cottontail rabbits darting around the yard. What a sight! They were so cute—and fast!

There were so many birds, too. I have four bird feeders set in concrete in the yard, and they’re always busy. The most popular one, by far, is the peanut feeder. Throughout the day, there’s almost always at least one bird munching away on the peanuts. And, many times, I look out and see a little male Downey Woodpecker, getting his fill of the peanuts. Sometimes, he brings his entire family! Thank You, Lord, for the sweetest morning!
