God’s Continuing Grace

We all have so much to be thankful for. When we look back over our lives, we can see so many times when God has protected us and watched over us. Those moments remind us just how much we have to be grateful for.

I was reminded of that very clearly just recently.

After attending an art class in Hot Springs Village, I was walking out along a concrete path when, not paying close attention, I tripped and fell…flat on my face. I hit the concrete hard on the side of my face. Thankfully, I never lost consciousness and was aware the entire time.

I tried to get up, and several kind ladies quickly rushed to help me. I had a deep gash in my right hand and had also broken my right hand…my painting hand! Because of the heart attack I had back in September, I have been on blood thinners, so there was a great deal of bleeding.

One of those thoughtful ladies called an ambulance, and I was taken to Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. After X-rays were taken, the doctor came in and told me they believed I had a small brain bleed.

Because of that possibility, I was transferred by ambulance to the ICU at Baptist Hospital. Those hours were certainly concerning, but after additional testing, the neurologist came in with wonderful news: there was no brain bleed after all.

Relief hardly describes what I felt in that moment. My heart was overflowing with gratitude to the Lord for His protection and care.

After two days in the ICU, I was able to return home, feeling incredibly thankful. I looked like a human  raccoon with black around my eyes…but I was aware once again of God’s grace in my life.

As I reflect on this experience, I am reminded once again of God’s constant faithfulness to His children. Even in moments when life suddenly takes an unexpected turn, His hand is still upon us, guiding, protecting, and carrying us through. We may not always see His work in the moment, but when we look back, His care becomes so clear. I am deeply grateful for His mercy, for the people He placed around me at just the right time, and for the reassurance that we are never outside the reach of His love. Truly, His grace continues each day, and my heart is filled with thankfulness.

I hope whoever reads this is blessed and also reminded of His love for them. He treats each one of us like we are the only child He has! His thoughts of me (or you) are more than the sand on the seashore! Psa 139:17-18

How much we are loved!!!

Kaye, bless your heart! You have had some rough patches, too! I'm happy you had the obvious help at the time to get you medical attention, and that the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock and Saline Memorial knew how to doctor you! Accidents happen, and we are prone to think we are as fast and agile as we once were, but we must take our time and be cautious! Praying your right hand which was broken mends and heals nicely and that you can resume painting soon!

We just had our auto returned to us Friday. The wheel dropped off on a Sunday evening after 5:00 p.m. while placing cemetery decorations for Thanksgiving and Christmas in Cabot. We were …

What a wonderful testimony. I always enjoy your posts. When I left Mabelvale to move to Sheridan, I had a terrible attitude because I lost all contact with my friends. I’ve so enjoyed finding some on Facebook and catching up. By the way, God’s plan moving me to Sheridan was a win! It took me a long time to accept it.

Diana. I am so thankful you are enjoying my blogs. It is just some small way I try to honor the Lord. Just give Him praise for His watch care over me and somehow maybe be an encouragement to someone else. I am so thankful you see God’s Hand in how He directed you to move to Sheridan! Our God is soooo good and trustworthy.
