A Morning Gift-June 27, 2025

Another gorgeous morning out on my deck! It’s a comfortable 72 degrees right now, though I know it’ll be climbing to 95 later on. I was sitting quietly, enjoying the peace, when I noticed a little movement in my large round flower bed. It was a little cottontail rabbit!

I’ve seen several in both my front and back yard lately—always scampering about, usually far too quick for me to snap a photo. But this morning, this little one just sat there as if posing just for me. What a gift!

A few days ago, I saw three tiny cottontails chasing each other around a small round flower bed in the front. They ran across the yard, made three playful loops around the flowers, and disappeared just as quickly as they came. It was the sweetest thing.

Thank You, Lord God, for this moment of quiet beauty. You continually show Your love for us in the simplest, most tender ways. My prayer is that hearts would be opened, that eyes would truly see Your Handiwork that is all around us. Every flower, every creature, every sunrise declares Your presence. Please, Lord… help us not to miss it, or, most importantly, not to miss You!

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”

—Psalm 19:1
